HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2002-069 N.C.S. 05/06/2002 1Zesolution No. 2002-069 N.C.S. of the City of Petaluma, California APPROVING THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE 2002 WATER WELL PROJECT; AND AWARDING THE CONTRACT .PROJECT N0.9795 WHEREAS, the City's General Plan recommends the City carry out capital improvement projects that will enhance the efficiency of the supply system and insure adequate supplies for the future; and, . WHEREAS, it was recommended in the 1985 Water System Capacity Study done by Brown & Caldwell Consulting Engineers that the City should strive to provide a local capability of supplying "between 50 and 75 percent of annual average daily demand; 67 percent is a reasonable capability of the local supply"; and WHEREAS, Petaluma should currently be capable of producing 6.2 million gallons per day (mgd) from its local supply; and, WHEREAS, four new City water wells should increase local production to 5.6 mgd. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Petaluma that: 1. The plans and specifications for the above-mentioned project are hereby approved; 2. The low bid is accepted; 3. The contract is hereby awarded to Nor-Cal Pump & Well Service, 1325 Barry Road, Yuba City, CA 95991 in the amount of $207,606.60 for the drilling, casing and testing of four municipal water wells to be located at La Tercera Park, McDowell Park, Miwok Park and Del Oro Park. Resolution No. 2002-069 N.C.S. BE IT FURTHER RES®LVED that the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the contract with Nor-Cal Pump and Well Service subject to the review and approval of all contract documents, insurance certificates and bonds by the City Attonley. Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
