HomeMy WebLinkAboutProclamation 04/21/2014 (3)City of Petaluma Prorlamattan Good Egg Award - John Crowley WHEREAS, it is recognized that community citizenship and private endeavor of the past and present have had a great impact on the history and prosperity of this City; and WHEREAS, calling attention to the vast and varied resources of this City will continue to foster community spirit, stimulate local prosperity, and promote pride in the rich heritage of this city; and WHEREAS, it is appropriate that the efforts of Petaluma citizens, which preserve, promote and contribute to the development of this City, with a respect for the past and a responsibility to the future, should be encouraged; and WHEREAS, it is recognized that individual efforts which contribute to the positive image and quality of life in this City should be rewarded NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT I, David Glass, Mayor of Petaluma, along with the members of the City Council, do hereby recognize John Crowley as the 2014 Good Egg Award recipient selected by the Butter and Egg Days Committee, in recognition and appreciation for taking a leading role in the advancement of the positive image of Petaluma and its heritage; and do encourage all citizens to seek inspiration from his outstanding example. j l -y vavad 04", vay" © —00�- 1oqew_-- AD Y j l -y vavad 04", vay" © —00�- 1oqew_-- AD T � w *Coo< (,Citp of Petaluma Carla, m atior� PETAL OMA HISTORY WEEK WHEREAS, the City of Petaluma has a long and illustrious history, which has played a significant part in the development of the State of California; and WHEREAS, the poultry and dairy industries of the past and present have had a great impact on the economic history of this City; and WHEREAS, calling attention to Petaluma's history in conjunction with the Petaluma Butter and Egg Days celebration will foster community spirit, promote pride in the City's rich heritage, and spotlight our poultry and dairy industries; and WHEREAS, this year's theme, "Home Grown Petaluma", celebrates 33 years of our parade encouraging the citizens of Petaluma to share their histories and stories - from the poultry and dairy industries to the rivertown financial center - that built Petaluma's early foundation and helped us create a very special hometown. This year, the Parade will focus on the many products, ideas, inventions and good works homegrown in Petaluma; and WHEREAS, friendships are forged by bringing families, friends, business associates and neighbors together again, to contribute to the richness of our community through the Butter and Egg Days event; and WHEREAS, it is recognized that studying the past creates respect for the present and hope for the future. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that I, David Glass, Mayor of Petaluma, along with members of the Petaluma City Council, do hereby proclaim the week of April 19 through April 26, 2014, as PETALUMA HISTORY WEEK with all attendant activities, and do encourage all citizens and visitors to observe this occasion by taking advantage of the various opportunities to participate in this worthwhile community event.
