WHEREAS, this City has participated or expects to participate in
the costs of crossing protection signals across the tracks of the Petaluma & Santa
Rosa Railroad Company and Northwestern Pacific Railroad Company at Payran
Street extended, and.
WHEREAS, the State of California has furnished certain funds
available to the Cities of the State of California to defray a portion of the costs to
be incurred by Cities in causing railroad crossing protection signals to be installed;
NOW, THEREFORE,. BE IT RESOLVED that the City Attorney, be,
and he is, hereby authorized and directed to prepare a request for an allocation of
funds to be submitted to the Public Utilities Commission for a proportion of this
City's costs incurred in constructing crossing protection signals and that the Mayor,
be, and he is, hereby directed to sign the said request on behalf of the City of
Petaluma.
