'RESOLUTION DIRECTING THE FIRE AND OTHER
INSPECTION DEPARTMENTS OF THE CITY OF PETALUMA
TO CONDUCT A PROGRAM OF INSPECTION OF THE
MULTIP LE DWELLING UNITS IN THIS CITY F.OR THE
PURPOSE OF,ASSISTING PROPERTY)OWNERS IN THE
ELIMINATION OF FIRE. AND OTHER HEALTH HAZARDS.
INTRODUCED BY COUNCILMAN" At A Regular Meeting of
the City KCouNnpcilil/rioff the City of Petaluma on ,the 5th day of February 1962

WHEREAS, by report of February 2 1962, the Fire and Building
Inspectors have `indicated their concern with fire and health hazards which may
be found in the multiple dwelling units in this City which concern arises out of
past experience of the Inspectors in this City and the 'experience of other Cities
throughout the •nation; and
WHEREAS, thel Fire, and Building Inspection Departments of this
City: have indicated their desire to assist property owners in providing adequate
and safe housi'ng' and to carry out':a program of inspection designed to provide
adequate and safe housing for this:City; and
WHEREAS, this Council.finds that this inspection program as
proposed is appropriate and proper and will be of benefit to this City and its
citizens;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that.the City Council of the
City of Petaluma directs the, Fire Inspector and Building Inspection Departments of
this City to embark upon a pr_ogram'of inspection of the "multiple dwelling units
located in this City, This Council finds that the purpose of-the inspection is to
assist:the property owners in providing adequate and',safe housing and requests
the property owners to co-operate with and to assist,`the 'inspection departments
in the carrying out of their duties as by this resolution herein directed.
