HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2010-132 N.C.S. 07/19/2010Resolution No. 2010-132 N.C.S. of the City of I'etaluma, California ACCEPTING THE DONATION OF EIVIERGENC~' RESC~TE E~UIPMEN'I' FR~11Vg TI-~E FIgtEMAN'S Fi1ND dNSURANCE COMPAN~' HERITAGE PROG1ZAlV~ VAL,UED A'T $35,877 AND AU'T~IORIZgNG 'TI-~E C'ITY 1VIANAG~R TO SIGN A G12ANT COIVIPLIANCE AGREEMEN'I' W~IER~AS, the Fireman's Fund Heritage Program awards grants and donations to fire departments for the purpose of providing essential firefighting equipment, firefighter training, and community education programs. Fireman's Fund employees nominate local fire departments for receipt of these grant donations; and, WHEREAS, the Petaluma Fire Department is equipped with two sets of high performance power/hydraulic rescue tools that are carried on two emergency response units (Engine & Truck). This equipment is commonly referred to as the "Jaws of Life"; and, WI~EREAS, the equipment has a service life of at least 10 years in high use environments; and, WHEREAS, the equipment that will be purchased with the Fireman's Fund donation is brand new and will be purchased by Fireman's Fund Insurance directly from the manufacturer for the Fire Department, and it will arrive with standard warranties. N(JW, TI-IEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Petaluma hereby accepts the donation of emergency rescue equipment as a donation from the Fireman's Fund Insurance Company Heritage Program and authorizes the City Manager to sign a Grant Compliance Agreement. Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
