HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2001-178 N.C.S. 10/15/2001 " Resolution No. 2001-17s~,C.S. r of the City of Petaluma, California RESOLUTION APPROVING THE USE OF GRANT FUNDS UNDER THE F~' 01-02 BUREAU OF .IUSTICE ASSISTANCE LOCAL LAW ENFORCElVIENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM WHEREAS, the Bureau of Justice Assistance has made funds available to the City of Petaluma under the FY 01-02 Local Law Enforcement Block Grants Program for the purpose of reducing crime and improving public safety, and; WHEREAS, the grant funds must be used for the purpose areas specified by the grant documents, and; WHEREAS, the grant requires an advisory board to review the proposed use of funds, and; WHEREAS, the advisory board reviewed the proposed use of the funds, and; WHEREAS, the advisory board and chief of police recommend the funds to be used in the FY 01-02 budget to maintain Petaluma's commitment to the Sonoma Countywide Drug Task Force, and; WHEREAS, a noticed public hearing was held on October 15, 2001, to hear public comments regarding the recommended use of the grant funds. The city manager is authorized to accept funding from the Bureau of Justice Assistance with the FY 01-02 Local Law Enforcement Grant Program on behalf of the City of Petaluma. 2. The grant funds shall be deposited in the police trust fund and accounted for separately as required by the grant. Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
