HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2001-187 N.C.S. 11/05/2001 lZesolution No.2oo1-, 87 N.C.S. 2 of the City of Petaluma, California 3 4 5 6 7 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL OF AN APPLICATION TO THE 8 CALIFORNIA STATE DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND COMMUNITY 9 DEVELOPMENT FOR FUNDING UNDER THE HOME INVESTMENT 10 PARTNERSHIPS PROGRAM; THE EXECUTION OF A STANDARD AGREEMENT 11 IF SELECTED FOR SUCH FUNDING AND ANY AMENDMENTS THERETO; AND 12 ANY RELATED DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO PARTICIl'ATE IN THE HOME 13 INVESTMENT PARTNERSHII'S PROGRAM. 14 15 16 WHEREAS the City of Petaluma, a political subdivision of the State of California, wishes 17 to apply for and receive an allocation of funds through the HOME Investment 18 Partnerships Program (hereinafter referred to as "HOME"); and 19 20 WHEREAS the California Department of Housing and Community Development 21 (hereinafter referred to as the "Department") has issued a Notice of Funding Availability 22 for the HOME program and is authorized to approve funding allocations which will be 23 made available directly through the U: S. Department of Housing and Urban Development 24 (HUD} to be used for the- purposes set forth in Title II of the Cranston-Gonzalez National 25 Affordable Housing Act of 1990, the implementing regulations, set forth in Title 24 of the 26 Code of Federal Regulations, part 92, and Title 25 of the California Code of Federal 27 Regulations, part 92, and Title 25 of the California Code of Regulations commencing with 28 section 8200; and 29 30 WHEREAS the City of Petaluma wishes to submit an application to obtain from the 31 Department an allocation of HOME funds; 32 33 THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Petaluma shall submit to the 34 Department an application to participate in the HOME program in response to the NOFA 3 5 issued on August 28, 2001 which will request a Rental New Construction funding 36 allocation for a proposed 23-unit senior rental apartment complex currently known as 37 Douglas Street Senior Apts., located at 200 Douglas Street; Petaluma, CA. 38 39 40 41 42 43 44 45 2001-187 Page 1 of 2 Resolution No. N.C.S. 1 2 3 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that if the application for funding is approved, the City of 4 Petaluma hereby agrees to use the HOME funds for eligible activities in the manner 5 presented in the application as approved by the Department and in accordance with 6 regulations cited above. It also may execute any and all. instruments necessary or required 7 by the Department or HUD for participation in the HOME Program. 8 9 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Petaluma authorizes the City Manager or 10 his designee to execute in the name of the City of Petaluma, the application, the Standard 11 Agreement, and all other documents required by the Department or HUD for participation 12 in the HOME program, and any amendments thereto. 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 1998home/a 20 21 22 Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
