' y luma, on the ------------- -----~---~----- da of --------- ---x-------------------------- WHEREAS, the State Depa,r'tment of Boating an;d W;aterways provides loans to cities, coanties and.districts:for the development of small craft harbow facilities; and, ~, WHEREAS., the City of Petaluma is desirous of developing the proposed boat- ing facil.ities to meet the need"s~.of the 6oating pu6lic i~n the surrounding area; and, WHfREAS, the Ci ty of Petal uma has conduc.ted a feasibi l i ty study whi ch shows the proposed project may be en~ginee`ringly and financially feasible and economically j`us~tified; and, ~ WHEREAS, the City of-Petaluma understands that the marina berthing facilities may be operated by the Gity•.o.r privately if the concessionai~re develops the berths and this opti`on was analyzed.an~d cqns:idered in the decision making process; and, WHEREAS, th`e City of Petaluma has surueyed t'he berthing rates of other marinas in the area and. unde.rstands" that it must agre.e to~ charge competitive berth- ing rates at the proposed marina an:d must agree that the berthing rates shall be ad- justed annually on the.basa•s of the Consumer Price Index or.other.more accurate or relevant andaces, NOW, THERE;FORE, BE IT RESOL•VE~D,:.tha~t the~ City Council of the City of Peta.luma by the adopti'oh of ,th~i:s Res~olution-, hereby re"quests a planning loan from the Department of Boating and Waterways i.n the ~amoun,t of $10,000.00 for the further planning of ~.~ ~ Res.
