RESOLUTION SUPPORTING MISSION OF CHILDREN'S
HEALTHCARE ACCESS COALITION
WHEREAS, a new Coalition has formed to address the need for all Sonoma County
children to have access to health care; and
WHEREAS, representatives from health care, advocacy, human services, government,
labor and faith-based communities have established a mission and vision for children, as follows:
Mission: The Children's Healthcare Access Coalition exists to establish asystem that
provides.full health benefits (medical, dental, vision, mental health services, prescription
coverage) to all children 1~~ho reside in Sonoma County. Believing that:
¦ Every Sonoma County child has a right to full health benefits.
¦ Adults and the community have a responsibility to ensure this basic right.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Petaluma City Council hereby
endorses the Mission of the Children's Healthcare Access Coalition and encourages parents to
sign up their children for health insurance through one of the publicly funded healthcare
programs available in Sonoma County.
Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
