SONOMA COUNTY The City Manager read a proposed reeommendation from
COMMERCIAL INDUSTRIAL the City of Petaluma to the Board of Supervisors
STUDY regarding their actions on the study. He recommended
that the Supervisor:s not adopt the study. Staff
advised the Council that i.t is the intent of this study that it become a
specific plan element of the county-wide General Plan, thus establishing a
policy by which county staff would deal with rezoning all County areas including
those that would be annexed to the City of Petaluma in the future, thus limiting
Petaluma's options. Council consensus was that it was basically opposed to
the report and the area between Casa Grande and Frates Road should be designated
in a zoning classification which would be appropriate for the proposed golf
course/industrial complex/residential plan recently announced for that area.
Councilman Bond expressed his unalterable opposition to the industrial commercial
report because he feels it limits what the City can do.
PERRY LANE City Attorney Klose advised the request to abandon a
portion of Perry Lane would be brought back to the
Council at some future time.
