S. 2 of the City of Petaluma, California 3 4 DESCRIBING IMPROVEMENTS AND DIRECTING PREPARATION 5 OF ENGINEER'S REPORT FOR FISCAL FEAR 2001-2002 6 ANNUAL ASSESSMENT FOR 7 LANDSCAPE ASSESSMENT DISTRICTS 8 9 WHEREAS, pursuant to the provision of the Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972, Part 2, 1o Division 15 of the Streets and Highways Code ofthe State of California, the City Council 11 conducted proceedings and have established Landscape Assessment Districts and Authorizing 12 Levy and Collection of Assessments Pursuant to Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972, as listed 13 in Exhibit A of the Engineer's report on file with the City Clerk; 14 15 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Petaluma, County of 16 Sonoma as follows: 17 18 1. The public interest, convenience and necessity require, and it is the intention of said 19 Council to undertake p~roc_eefl~rgG~~:~r tl~nle~ y=atzu c,csl~;~t~o~~~u~ a~~~ssiiients upon the several ~0 parcels of land in said districts, for the maintenance for the fiscal year 2001-2002; 21 22 2. The improvements to be constructed or installed, including the maintained, thereof, 23 are more particularly described for each District in Exhibit B of the Engineer's report on file; 24 25 3. The maintenance costs or expenses of said improvements, are to be made chargeable 26 upon said districts, the exterior boundaries of each district are the composite and each 27 consolidated area as more particularly shown on a map thereof on file in the office of the City 28 Clerk of Petaluma, to which reference is hereby made for further particulars. Said maps for each 29 District indicates by a boundary line the extent of the territory included in said district and of any 3o zone thereof and shall govern for all details as to the extent of each assessment district; 31 Reso. 2001-1114NCS Page 1 1 4. The Director of Engineering of Petaluma shall be the Engineer of Work, and is hereby 2 directed to prepare and file with the City Clerk a report on the districts specifying the fiscal year 3 to which the report applies, and, with respect to that year, presenting the following: 4 5 a) Description of the existing improvements 6 and for proposed new improvements, if any, to be made 7 within the assessment district or within any zone 8 thereof; 9 to b) An estimate of the costs of said proposed new 11 improvements, if any, to be made, the costs of 12 maintenance of any existing improvements, 13 together with the incidental expenses 14 in connection therewith; 15 c) A diagram showing the exterior boundaries of the 16 assessment district and the lines and dimensions of 17 each lot or parcel of land within the district as 18 such lot or parcel of land is shown on the County 19 Assessor's map for the fiscal year to which the 20 report applies, each of which lots of parcels of land 21 shall be identified by a distinctive number on 22 said diagram; and 23 24 d) A proposed assessment of the total amount of the 25 estimated costs and expenses ofthe-proposed new 26 improvements, if any, including the maintenance 27 of any existing improvements upon the several 28 parcels of land in said district in proportion 29 to the estimated. benefits to be received by such 30 parcels of land from said improvements, including the Page 2 Reso.2001-111DNCS 1 maintenance, and of the expenses incidental thereto. 2 3 5. The Director of Parks and Recreation and/or the Director of Finance of Petaluma is 4 hereby designated as the person to answer inquiries regarding any protest proceedings 5 to be had. herein, and may be contacted during regular office hours at the Petaluma 6 City Hall, P.O.
