AS FOLLOWS:.
Section 1,. Section 17. 04. U10 of the Petaluma .Municipal Code is hereby
amended to read as follows:
"17. 04. 01:0. CODES AD:OPTED . There is 'hereby adopted by the
City of Petaluma for the purpose of establishing rules and
regulations governing building activity in the City, providing for
the collection of permit fees, the issuance of permits; the adoption

of the latest editions of recogriized" codes; amendment of such

codes, arnd thus •regulate the erection, construction enlargement,
alteration, repair, moving, r:emovirig, 'conversion, demolition,
occupancy, use, heiglit and `area'; including the installation of
electrical, gas, plumbing and mechanical systems; including
regulations applying to the construction of fences, signs, swimming
pools', yard drainage systems; grading and exca~ation of land; and
pro.vide for the abatement of unsafe buildings; the following
uniform codes .
A. Uniform Building Code, 1982 Edition, as adopted and
published by the International Gonference of Building
Officials, including all appendices with the following
addition :
With respect to Uniform Building Code, Section
2905, the following shall be includedc
(g) Crawl Space Grade and Drainage.
Grade level in under floor areas shall not be
lower than exterior grade unless adequate
drainage to a positive outfall is provided.
Where any water will collect in the under floor
area, an approved drainage system shall be
provided.
B. Uniform Housing Code, 1982 Edition, as the same is
adopted and published by the International Conference of
Building Officials.
C. Dwelling Construction Under the Uniform Building Code,
1982 Edition, as the same is adopted and published by
the Internal Conference of Building Officials.
D. Uniform Code for the. Abatement of Dan.gerous Buildings,
1982 Edition, as the same is .~adop~t.ed and published by
the International Conferenc
e of B:uilding Officials.
E. Uniform Administrative Code, 1982 Edition, as the same is
adopted and published by the International Conference of
Building Officials.

F. Uniform Building Security Code, 1982 Edition, as the
same is adopted and published by the International
Conference of B:uilding Officials.
G. Uniform Sign Code, 1982 Edition, as the same is adopted
and published by the International Conference of
Building Officials, except Section 303 is omitted.
H. 1983 Sugplement to the Uniform Building Code, Uniform
Building Code Standards, Uniform Mechanical Code,
Uniform Fire Code and International Conference of
Building Officials Plumbing Code as the same is adopted
and published by the International Conference of
Building Officials.
I. Uniform Building Code S'tandards, 1982 Edition, as the
same is adopted and published by the International
Conference of Building Officials.
J. 1982 Analysis of Revisions to the Uniform Building Codes
as the same is adopted and published by the
International Conference~ of Building Officials.
K. Uniform Mechanical Code, 1982 Edition., as the same is
adopted and published by the International Conference of
Buildirig Officials and the •~;International Association of
Plumbing and Mechanical 'Officials.
L. Uniform Plumbing Code, 1982 Edition, as the same is
adopted and published -by the Iriternational Conference of
Building Officials and the International Association of
Plumbing and . Me¢hanical Officials.
M. Uniform Swimming Pool, Spa and Hot Tub Code, 1982
Edition as the same is adopted and published by the
International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical
Officials . -
N. Unifor.m Solar Energy~ Code, 19.82 E'di;t'ion as the same is
adopted and publislied by the `.International Association of
Plumbing and Mechanical Officials.
O. National Electrical Gode, 1:981 Edition, as adopted and
published by the National Fire Protection Association.
All references to permit fees within items A through O above are
hereby deleted. The permit fees shall. be fixed by the Fee Schedule
adopted 'by the City Council by Resolution..

Section 2. Severability Clause.. If any section, subsection, sentence,
clause or phrase of this Ordi•nance is for any reason held to be
unconstitutional, such decision shall not affect the remaining portions of
this Ordinance. The City Council declares that it would have passed
this Ordinance and each section, sub,sect'ion-,. sentence, clause or phrase
thereof, irrespective of the fact that any, one or more sections,
subsections, sentences, clauses, or phrases to declared unconstitutional.
Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby ,directed to post this ordinance for
the period and in the manner ~required by the City Charter.
