AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING QRDINANCE NO . 1072 N. C. S.
BY DELETING SECTION 2fs-400 THEREOF
(SITE PLAN AND ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW COMMITTEE)
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the ~ City of Petaluma as follows :
Section 1. Section 26-400 of Zoriing Ordiiiance No . 1072 N. C. S. is
hereby deleted in its entirety.
Section 2. The City Council h'ereby finds that the proposed amendment
is in general conformity with the Petaluma General Plan and any applicable
Environmental Design Plan, and further, ~that the public interest, convenience
and general welfare will be furthered by the proposed amendment.
Section 3. That the public necessity, convenience and general welfare
require or clearly permit the adoption of the proposed amendment.
Section 4. The City Council finds that the ordinance is exempt from the
requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act Guidelines, per
Section 15305.

RECONtMENDATIOn:
The Planning Commission reeommends the proposed shift of r.eference to SPARC
Committee from the. Zoning Ordinance, Title 21, to fhe Administrative Section
of the iVlunicipal Code, Title 2.
BACKGROUND:
The shift will bring the language on rnembership, terms and ciuties in line. with
similar 'language regarding o#her City committees ancl commissions. The recom-
mended; amendments also .delete Council participation on;.SPARG ancl professional
qualification requirernents for one "community" member of. the Committee.. During
cliscussion of Ordinance I557 Gouncil directed Staff to prepare alternate legislation
which is now proposed for introduction.
