Section 2 The Council further finds that. said Planning
Commission held a public :hearing on said amendment to Zoning Ordinance
No.. 1072 N.C.S.. as amended; on April 2'6; , 1983,. after giving notice . of
said, hearing in the -'manner, for tla'e period : arrd ,.in -the- form! -required by
Ordinance No. -1.0.72 N'.C; S,
Section 3. Pursuant -tol the provisions 'of 'Zoning. 'Ordinance No. 1072
N . C . S .., as. amended, the City Council finds the proposed amendment •
consistent: with the existing General. Plan and 'EDP: ` C=H,:` Highway'
Commercial -zoning is: 'consistent with th'e Service Commercial `general plan r
designation of,. the area;. The Council, further'' finds' that then public -
necessity' convenience,;. and general welfare.' clearly perm •t'. the, adoption of
the, proposed amendment. The area is more appropriate for development of
C-H, Highway commercial- uses than R-1-6500 uses ;given its .proximity to
Petaluma Boulevard and, adjacent commercial activities'.
