HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2015-037 N.C.S. 04/06/2015Resolution No. 2015-037 N.C.S. of the City of Petaluma, California RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF SIX 2016 FORD POLICE INTERCEPTOR UTILITY PATROL VEHICLES FROM FOLSOM LAKE FORD IN THE AMOUNT OF $205,123.26, PLUS AN ESTIMATED $12,000 PER VEHICLE FOR THE PURCHASE OF STANDARD ACCESSORY EQUIPMENT, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO COMPLETE THE PURCHASE WHEREAS, the City of Petaluma Police Department has identified a need to replace vehicles and proposes to purchase six (6) Ford Police Interceptor Utility patrol vehicles; and WHEREAS, the City has determined Folsom Lake Ford holds a competitive bid contract with the State of California for the 2016 Ford Police Interceptor Utility vehicles; and WHEREAS, Petaluma Municipal Code section 4.04. 100 provides that purchases made through a cooperative purchasing program with the state, county or other public agencies are exempt from provisions of Chapter 4.04 of the Petaluma Municipal Code, provided there is documentation as to the advantage of the cooperative purchase; and WHEREAS, there is an advantage in purchasing the requested patrol vehicles through the state cooperative purchasing program because of better pricing, better delivery timelines, and the avoidance of the expense and time associated with conducting a bid process, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL HEREBY (1) Approves the purchase of six (6) 2016 Ford Police Interceptor Utility patrol vehicles from Folsom Lake Ford in the amount of $205,123.26, subject to the conditions and specifications contained in the proposal of Folsom Lake Ford; and (2) Authorizes the City Manager, or his designee, to execute any necessary documents to complete the purchase of the vehicles and related equipment Resolution No. 2015037 N.C.S.
