AN ORD~I'NANCE;APPROFRIATI"NG FUNDS FOR THE OPERATION OF THE CITY OF
PETALUMA DURING THE FISCAL YEAR 1980-81~AND DECLARING THE URGENCY
THEREOF, TO TAKE EFFECT IMMEDIATELY
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COl1NCIL OF THE CITY OF PETAI:UMA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. There is hereby appropriated for the usuaT and ordinary
expenses of the City for the period of July 1, 1980, to June 30, 1981, the
amounts set out in the finally adopted budget approved by the City Council on
June 30, 1980 by~Reso:lution No. 8893 N.C.S. wh;ich budget is hereby incor-
porated by reference, and distributed to the various fu_nds as set out in said
budget, and shall be expended and used in accordance therewith.
Section 2. Changes with relation to the above appropriation between each
respective department or fund may be made by resolution adopted by the City
Council. The City Manager may administratively make changes within the departmental
budgets as approved so long as the total amounts do not exceed, as a result of
the change, the amou.nts set forth in the approved depa`rtment budget.
Section 3. The City Council hereby finds and determines that the amount
of a;ppropriations provided hereby does not exceed the.estimated revenue and
other availabTe funds_of the City for the fiseal year ending.June 30, 1981.
Secti.on,4. All ordinances or parts of 'ordinances in confTict herewith are
hereby repealed.

Section 5.~ This ordi'nance is hereby decl.ared to be necessary for the
immediate preservation of the publi`c peace, health, and safety of the City of
Petaluma, and shall take~effect and be in force from and after its final passage
by a unanimous vote of the members of the City CounciT present at the time of
its adoption. The reason for the urgency is so that the work au:thorized to be
accomplished hereby may 6e properly sciieduled and spaced over the coming year
to furnish the City the,ord,inary running expenses of the City and particularly
those relating to the protection of the ~blic peace, health, and safety from
and after its passage:
Section 6. The Ca-ty Cler.k be; and she i`s hereby, directed to post this
ordinance for the per-aod and in the~manner required by the Gity Charter.
