It is recommended that the City Counci'1 adopt the attached resolution appointing individuals to
City Boards, Commissions, and Committees.

Vacancies exist on Gity Boards, Commissions, and Committees, both for terms that expired June
30, 2010 and were not filled at the June 21, 2010 Counci'1 Meeting, and unexpired terms created
by resignations. -
I9~SCUSSION
Notices of vacancies were published in the Petaluma Argus-Courier on September 2 and
September 9, 2010 and on the City's VJeb Site. The attached "Get Involved" flyer was
distributed at City Hall, the Petaluma Community Center, the Petaluma Library, and the
Petaluma Campus of Santa Rosa Junior College. Petaluma Community Access (PCA) ran an
announcement of the openings as well. The deadline for applications was Monday, September
13, 201.0, at 5:00 p:m.
In accc>>rdance with the selection process included in Resolution 2010-020 N.C.S., a sub-
comm~ttee of the Youth Commission reviewed applications and interviewed applicants
for recommendation to the Council. The sub-committee's list of recommended applicants
is attached.

Thursday, September 2, 2010, and Thursday, September 9, 2010, Petaluma, California - The City of Petaluma will
be accepting applications from persons interes.ted in serving on City Boards, Commissions, and Committees. A
minirnum of one year residency within the City limits is required, with limited exceptions. Applications are
available in Adobe Acrobat pdf format at the City's V~/e.b site, cityofpetaluma.net, or you may request an

every other month at 7;00 p.m., at the Petaluma Animal Shelter, 840 Hopper Street.
• Public Art Commiltee: one vacancy
One vacancy to complete a four-year term expiring ,June. 30, 2012. The Committee meets the fourth
Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m., at the Petaluma Arts Center, 210 Lakeville Street.
o Senior Advisory Committee: four vacancies
One vacancy to complete a two-year term expiring June 30, 201 1, and three vacancies for two-year terms
expir;ng June 30, 2012. The Committee meets the second Wednesday of every other month at 10:00 a.m. at
the Senior Center, 211 Novak Drive.
• Transit Advisory CommitFee: two to four vacancies
Legislation is being brought to, Council to restructure the composition of the Transit Committee. Depending
on the outcome, there will be between two and four vacancies; one vacancy to complete a two-year
term expiring June 30, 201 1, and three vacancies for two-year terms expiring June 30, 2012. The Committee
meets the first Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 1 1 English Street.
