1 RESOLUTION
2 APPROVING THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS
3 PREPARED BY GREEN VALLEY CONSULTING ENGINEERS .FOR
4 THE "C" STREET STORM DRAIN IMPROVEMENT
5 AND AWARDING THE CONTRACT TO BAY PACIFIC PIPELINES
6 PROJECT NO. 9015

9 WHEREAS, improvements to the "C" Street storm drain conduit were identified in the 1986
10 Master Drainage Plan;
11
12 WHEREAS, the project is designed to mitigate occasional surface water management problems
13 that can occur adjacent C Street from Sixth Street to the Petaluma River during extreme rain
14 events;
15
16 WHEREAS, project funding is through the Sonoma County Water Agency Zone 2A;
17
18 WHEREAS, the City of Petaluma advertised for construction bids in May 2001;
19
20 WHEREAS, the City received two (2) bids on June 14,.2001; and,

22 NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Petaluma that
23 1. The plans and specifications prepared by Green Valley Consulting Engineers for the
24 above-mentioned project are hereby approved,
25 2. The low bid is accepted;
26 3. The construction contract is hereby awarded to Bay Pacific Pipelines Inc., P.O. Box
27 1162, Novato, CA 94948, the low bidder, in the amount of $774,770 subject to
28 concurrence of the award by the Sonoma County Water Agency.

30 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the
31 contract with Bay Pacific Pipelines Inc. subject to the review and approval of all contract
32 documents, insurance certificates and bonds by the City Attorney and the Sonoma County Water
33 Agency.
Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
