HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2010-181 N.C.S. 10/04/2010Resolution No. 2010-181 N.C.S. of the City of Petaluma, California ACCEPTING ~MERGENCY RESCiJE EQU~PMEN'I' P~JRC~-IASEI) BX SONOIVIA COLINTY ~1VIERGENCY SE~2V~CES FROM TI~E FY 2009 I~OMELAND SECURI'I'Y GRANT PROGRAM (I~SGP) VALiJE~ A~' $20,000, ANID AUT~-IORIZING T~YE CI'd'Y MANAGER TO SIGN THE CURREN'I' GRAN'T COIVIPLIANCE AGRE~MEN'I' AS W~L.L AN~ A~DI'TIONAL HSGP GRAN'I' AGREEIVIENTS AID1VgINIS'~"EREID ~1' SONOMA COiJNTY EMERGENCY SE1tVIC'ES FOR G~tAN'~'S AWARDEI) TO 'THE C'ITY OF PETA~.iJMA WI~EREAS, each year the Sonoma County Fire Chiefs Association submits Grant requests on behalf of Sonoma County Fire Departments for Homeland Security Grant funds administered by the Sonoma County Emergency Services Department; and, W~I~REAS, this year the City of Petaluma Fire Department was selected for a grant award valued at $20,000 for the purchase of rescue tools and gas powered equipment; and, WI~EREAS, the Petaluma Fire Department is a participating member of the Sonoma County Fire Chiefs Association, and through this Association, the Department has access to Homeland Security Grant funds that become available on an annual basis administered by the Sonoma County Emergency Services Department; and, WHEREAS, this Resolution includes a provision that authorizes the City of Petaluma City Manager to sign the required Grant Compliance Agreement and all future grant compliance agreements without the necessity of bringing each Grant received back to the Council for approval each year. NOW, TI~ERE~ORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Petaluma adopts the Resolution Accepting Emergency Rescue Equipment Purchased by Sonoma County Emergency Services from the FY2009 Homeland Security Grant Program (HSGP) Valued at $20,000, and Authorizing the City Manager to Sign the Current Grant Compliance Agreement as well as Any Additional HSGP Grant Agreements Administered by Sonoma County Emergency Services for Grants Awarded to the City of Petaluma Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City REFERENCE: I hereby certify the foregoing Resolution was introduced and adopted by the Approved as to Council of the City of Petaluma at a Regular meeting on the 4`h day of October, form: 2010, by the following vote: ' Assistant ity ttorne AYES: Barrett, Vice Mayor Glass, Harris, Healy, Rabbitt, Renee, Mayor Torliatt NOES: N~ne ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None ATTEST: Ci'V ~~ City Clerk Resolution No. 2010-181 N.C.S.
