HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2001-052 N.C.S. 03/05/20011 Resolution No. 2001-052 N.C.S. 2 of the City of Petaluma, Calif®rnia 3 4 5 DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO SUSPEND THE 6 PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH DYETT & BHATIA FOR 7 CONTRACT SERVICES FOR THE PREPARATION OF THE 8 CITY OF PETALUMA GENERAL PLAN 2000 - 2020 9 WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE CIRCULATION/ 1o TRANSPORTATION ELEMENT 11 12 13 WHEREAS, the City Council previously authorized, by Resolution No. 00-216 N.C.S., the 14 preparation of a new General Plan through contract services with the firm of Dyett and Bhatia; 15 and, 16 17 WHEREAS, the contract service costs were estimated at $1,610,000, with a City Management 18 requested contingency of $140,000 for auxiliary contract service firms, for a total authorized 19 amount of $1,750,000. 20 21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Petaluma that 22 the City Manager is directed to suspend the executed professional services agreement with Dyett 23 and Bhatia for professional contract services for the preparation and completion of the Petaluma 24 General Plan 2000 - 2020, with the exception of the Transportation/Circulation Element. 25 26 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Petaluma that. the City 27 Manager is further directed to return to the City Council with options for how to reduce the 28 scope of work on the General Plan preparation process. 29 30 31 Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City. 32 REFERENCE: I hereby certify the foregoing Resolution was introduced and adopted by the 33 Council of the City of Petaluma at a Regular meeting on March 5, 2001 Approved as to 34 by the following vote: _ form: 35 ~ ~\~~ 36 , 37 City Attorney 38 AYES: O'Brien, Healy, Bryant Moynihan, Mayor Thompson 39 NOES: Torliatt, Maguire, Vice Mayor Cader-Thompson 40 ABSENT: None 41 ~ ~o~J~/ 42 ATTEST: ,~ ~ / 1 / 43 City C rk ( Mayor Reso. 2001-052 NCS Page I
