HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2001-075 N.C.S. 03/19/20011 Resolution No. 2001-075 N.C.S. 2 of the City of Petaluma, California 3 4 5 6 RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF AN URBAN STREAMS RESTORATION 7 GRANT FOR THE PURCHASE OF THE GRANGE PROPERTY, 8 INDUSTRIAL AVENUE, PETALUMA, CALIFORNIA 9 10 11 12 13 Resolution endorsing application for an Urban Streams Restoration Grant and determining appropriate 14 environmental impact document, conditionally accepting grant if offered, and designating contract 15 manager and fiscal. agent. 16 17 WHEREAS, the California Department of Water Resources, Division of Local Assistance, Urban 18 Streams Restoration Program has announced the availability of funds for grants; and 19 20 WHEREAS, said grants are intended to help solve flooding and erosion problems in a way that 21 provides environmental enhancement; and 22 23 WHEREAS, the Petaluma Watershed Foundation has proposed to cosponsor a grant application with 24 the City of Petaluma; and 25 26 WHEREAS, we have concluded the project proposed for funding with the grant funds would be 27 environmentally beneficial and categorically exempt from requirements for environmental 28 documentation preparation under one or all of the following exemptions: Class 7, 13 and 16. 29 30 WHEREAS, we consider the prospects of receiving such a grant to be reasonably likely. 31 32 NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, we the City Council, of the City of Petaluma, approve the 33 joint application with Petaluma Watershed, Foundation -for an Urban Streams Restoration Program 34 grant. 35 Reso. 2001-075 NCS Page 1 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 33 34 35 36 37 38 39 40 If offered such a grant, we authorize the City Manager to accept the grant and sign any contract for administration of the grant funds, Pamela Tuft, AICP; and Jim Carr to develop a work plan for the project, and William Thomas to submit invoices to the Department of Water Resources for activities carried out under the work plan for the grant contract. Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
