s TIIE CITY MANAGER TO SIGN TIIE AGREEMENT

„ WHEREAS, the City of Petaluma, with the financial assistance of the Coastal Conservancy,
,a developed the Petaluma Marsh Enhancement Plan for the Petaluma marsh in 1992; and

, 4 WHEREAS, Phases I and II of the .Petaluma Marsh Enhancement Plan have been implemented,
~s focusing on public access pathways and enhancement of lower Adobe Creek, including riparian
~ 6 and tidal marsh restoration at Shollenberger Park; and

is WHEREAS, the Coastal Conservancy has awarded the City of Petaluma a grant for $450,000 so
,9 the City can implement Phase III of the Petaluma Marsh Enhancement Plan, thus preserving
zo valuable marsh enhancement areas for the education and enjoyment of local citizens, and the
z, improvement of marsh enhancement areas.

z3 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Petaluma do
2a approve the agreement with the Coastal Conservancy fora $450,000 grant with the .intent of
zs implementing Phase III of the Petaluma Marsh Enhancement Plan for the Petaluma Marsh, and
z6 authorize the City Manager to sign the approved agreement.

REFERENCE: I hereby certify the foregoing Resolution was introduced and adopted by the Approved as to
Council of the City of Petaluma at a Regular meeting on April 16, 2001,
