I have been the owner of a landscape design business in Petaluma since 1984. This experience gives me insight into land use, commercial planning, and design of public places. I have a Master of Fine arts in sculpture, teach sculpture at the university level and have received many of awards of excellence for my work. I bring to the table the ability to solve problems creatively and think outside the box. I have a certificate in permaculture and am very involved in sustainable issues. I believe that the development of the Smart train is an essential part of the plan to reduce green house gases. The stations are an important integral part of this program and my input will be a valuable asset in the planning stage. 0191 College; PiofessionalVocational Schools Attended (Mafor Subfect; Dates, Degree /Date) L,c,l'x xfL "d- .1 . i 'ri. nv.f ✓_: : ' ' e ..1 University of Southern California 1974 -cum laude BS Fine Arts major /English minor Cambridge University - England - scholarship summer 1973 San Francisco State 1981 - MA Sculpture San Francisco Urban Permaculture Institute - permaculture certificate 3/2010 Special Awards °or Recogrntion Received. Specifically I would like to see the stations developed around sustainable principals. Petaluma is already on it's way to becoming an eco tourist destination with Schollenberger Park being on the National Geographic list of destinations and Patricia Johanson's internationally published project for the Petaluma wetlands Park on the Smithsonian's list as soon as it is completed. If the stations reflect development around innovative sustainable ideas that will be one more step in Petaluma becoming known as a forward looking community that will attract the eco tourist. Is there any other informatwri that you feel would_6e useful-to theiCity Cqur cd miev iewing , yo "ur application? . As you can see I have not been very involved in government bodies and elective offices since my university days. Petaluma has been my home since 1983. 1 recently moved into town from the country. I care deeply about how Petaluma is developed in these next critical years as the paradigm shifts. I would like to a part of the planning for the future in the areas that I have an interest and expertise.
