HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2001-098 N.C.S. 05/07/2001 Resolution No. 2001-098 N.C.S. of the City of Petaluma, California ADOPTING THE INITIAL STUDY/MITIGATED NEGATIVE DECLARATION FOR ALTERNATIVE 1 IMPROVEMENTS FOI2 THE McDOWELL BOULEVARD/E. WASHINGTON STREET INTERSECTION TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROJECT PROJECT NO. 9863, Phi WHEREAS, an Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration, dated March 2001, has been prepared for the Alternative 1 improvements for the McDowell Boulevard/E. Washington Street Intersection Transportation Improvement Project; and, WHEREAS, mitigation measures were incorporated into Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration to reduce all identified potentially significant impacts to less than significant levels; and, WHEREAS, the following findings were determined for the Alternative 1 improvements at the intersection: ® The project does not have the potential to degrade the quality of the environment, nor to curtail the diversity of the environment; ® The project will not have a detrimental effect upon either short-term or long-term environmental goals; ® The project will not have impacts which are individually limited but cumulatively considerable; o The project will not have environmental impacts which will cause substantial adverse effects upon human beings, either directly or indirectly; and, WHEREAS, all residents and property owners within 400 feet of the improvements were notified and invited to submit written comments regarding the Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration; and, WHEREAS, the Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration document was also submitted to the State Clearing House for review and comment; WHEREAS, the posting period for both the public and State Clearing House comment was from March 5, 2001 to April 4, 2001, and in compliance with requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), and no comments were received; and, WHEREAS, the project's environmental consultant and the State Clearing House confirmed that the project's environmental review process is in compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA); and, Reso. 2001-098 NCS .~ NOW DE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Petaluma, California has reviewed and hereby accepts and adopts the Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration for the Alternative 1 improvements for the McDowell Boulevard/E. Washington Street Intersection Transportation Improvement Project. Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
