HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2001-019 N.C.S. 01/16/20011Zesolution No. 2001-019 N.C.S. of the City of Petaluma, California ADOPTING THE SONOMA COUNTY OPERATIONAL AREA HAZARDOUS MATERIALS INCIDENT RESPONSE PLAN, AND AUTHORIZING THE FIRE DEPARTMENT TO CONTINUE SAID DOCUMENT AS A GUIDE FOR OPERATIONS AT HAZARDOUS MATERIALS INCIDENTS WHEREAS, the City of Petaluma has designated itself as the "Administering Agency" for the purpose of administering certain provisions of the California Health and Safety Code relating to hazardous materials; and WHEREAS, Health and Safety Code Chapter 6.95, Article I, Section 25503(d) requires each administering agency to certify to the State Office of Emergency Services that the agencies area plan has been reviewed triennially; and WHEREAS, the City of Petaluma participates in a cooperative effort with the Sonoma County Office of Emergency Services in the development and maintenance of a county-wide hazardous materials incident response plan; and WHEREAS, Health and Safety Code Section 25502(b) provides that a City may assume responsibility for the implementation of Chapter 6.95 of the California Health and Safety Code regarding the handling of hazardous materials within this jurisdiction. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that: 1. The City of Petaluma, by adoption of Resolution 86-129, authorizing the Fire Department to be designated as an administrating agency. Reso. 2001-019 NCS 2. The Petaluma City Council hereby adopts the "Sonoma County Operational Area Hazardous Materials Incident Response Plan," dated August 2000.
