HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 00-201 N.C.S. 11/20/2000 Res®1L1$1O11 N®. ®®-201 N.C.S. of the City of Petaluma, California RESOLUTION ACCEPTING ALLOCATION OF STATE BLOCK GRANT FUNDS OF $114,500 FOIE COMPUTER AIDED DISPATCH, RECORDS MANAGEMENT AND MOBILE DATA COMUTING SYSTEM IMPLEMENTATION AND OPERATION WHEREAS, the State has adopted legislation to provide supplemental law enforcement funds for the Citizens' Option for Public Safety (COPS) Program, and; WHEREAS, the funds are required to be placed in a special fund called Local Law Enforcement Supplemental Services Fund (LLESSF) and are to be used to supplement front line municipal police services, and; WREREAS, the City Council is required to hold a public hearing on the use of the funds each year, and; WREREAS, the City is participating in a Countywide effort to procure and implement a shared Computer Aided Dispatch, Records Management and Mobile Data Computing system, and; WREREAS, the Chief of Police has recommended that the funds be used towards the purchase of a Computed Aided Dispatch, Records Management and Mobile Date Computing system, and; WREREAS, the grant requires a Countywide Oversight Comnttee to review the proposed use of funds, and; WREREAS, the Countywide Oversight Committee reviewed and agreed to the proposed use of funds on October 11, 2000, and; WREREAS, a public hearing was noticed and held on November 20, 2000. NOW, TREREFORE, BE IT RESOI.YED by the City Council that; Reso. 00-201 NCS Page 1 1. The FY 2000 - 2001 allocation from the State of California Local Law Enforcement Supplemental Services Funding is to be used in the procurement, implementation and operation of the Computer Aided Dispatch, Records Management and Mobile Data Computing system. 2. The FY 2000 -2001 allocation is to be accounted for in the Local Law Enforcement Supplemental Services fund. Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
