HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 00-213 N.C.S. 12/11/2000 resolution No. 00-2131V.C.S. of the City of Petaluma, California APPIIOVI1vG REQUEST FOIL F>(T1vDS FOIL PETAI.UIVIA WATEItSHEI) PAItT1VEItSHIP WHEREAS, the Petaluma Watershed Partnership is a community-based organization comprised of rural and urban landowners, stakeholders and residents that was formed to address current issues involving the Petaluma River Watershed; and WHEREAS, the Petaluma Watershed Partnership was instrumental in developing enhancement goals for the 146 square mile watershed, and through the Southern Sonoma County Resource Conservation District, completed a Petaluma Watershed Enhancement Plan in 1999; and WHEREAS, the goals of the Partnership are to accomplish the goals in the Petaluma Watershed Enhancement Plan, and work on issues of water quality improvement, surface water management and flooding with other agencies and watershed groups; and WHEREAS, the Petaluma Watershed Partnership is seeking financial support from the City so it may incorporate as a nonprofit entity, support continued membership outreach and education, and fund one half-time administrative person for an approximate six month period. NOW, THEREFORE, ~E IT ItESOLVEID that the Petaluma City Council authorizes the expenditure of $22,000.00 to assist the Petaluma Watershed Partnership so it may incorporate as a nonprofit. entity. Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
