HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2015-158 N.C.S. 10/05/2015Resolution No. 2015 -158 N.C.S. of the City of Petaluma, California APPOINTING COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVE AND ALTERNATE TO THE NORTH BAY WATERSHED ASSOCIATION WHEREAS, the City of Petaluma is a member of the North Bay Watershed Association (NBWA), which is an organization that supports and protects our strategic interests in water supply, wastewater, and storm water management; and WHEREAS, the NBWA desires the appointment of an elected official(s) to the Board of Directors; and WHEREAS, Councilmembers Healy and Barrett are currently representing the City on regional advisory committees with interests in water resources and conservation, stream maintenance and flood protection; and WHEREAS, Mayor Glass has recommended that the City Council approve his appointment of Councilmember Healy as Petaluma's representative on the NBWA, and appointment of Councilmember Barrett as Petaluma's alternate; and WHEREAS, to synchronize the term of these appointments with the Council committee assignments made by the Mayor and approved by the City Council each January, it is desirable that the term of these initial appointments are effective into January 2016. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT Councilmember Healy is appointed as the Council Representative the North Bay Watershed Association and Councilmember Barrett is appointed as the alternate, for the period from October 5, 2015 until Council committee assignments for calendar year 2016 are made. Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
