RES®LUTI®N APPR®VING FARES F®R THE
CITI' ®F PETALUIVIA BUS SERVICE
WHEREAS, the Transportation Development Act requires that the City maintain a minimum
ratio of fare box revenues to operating costs; and
WHEREAS, the 2000 Federal census will confirm that the population of Petaluma will exceed
50,000; and
WHEREAS, the fare box recovery ratio will increase from 10% to 20%; and
WHEREAS, an increase in fare will help meet that increase.
N®W, THEREF®RE, BE IT RES®LVED that transit fare will be in effect as follows:
The proposed fare rate increase would take place over three years, starting January 2, 2001.
Fares for Fixed Route service would increase as follows:
• $.75 to $.80 Adult/Student, $.35 to $.40 Senior/Disabled on O1/O1/O1
® $.80 to $.90 Adult/Student, $.40 to $.45 Senior/Disabled on 01/01/02
o $.90 to $1.00 Adult/Student, $.45 to $.50 Senior/Disabled on 01/01/03
Ten Ride Pass
• $.7.50 to $8.00 Adult/Student, $3.50 to $4.00 Senior/Disabled on O1/O1/Ol
• $8.00 to $9.00 Adult/Student, $4..00 to $4.50 Senior/Disabled on 01/01/02
® $9.00 to $10.00 Adult/Student, $4.50 to $5.00 Senior/Disabled on 01/01/03
Monthly Pass (Calendar Month, iJnlimited Rides)
• $28.00 to $29.00 Adult, $20.00 to $21.00 Student, $12.00 to $13.00 Senior/Disabled on
O1/O1/O1
• $29.00 to remain .$29.00 Adult, $21.00 to $23.00 Students, $13.00 to $14.00
Senior/Disabled on 01/01/02

Paratransit Fares are mandated to not exceed twice the regular adult fare. Therefore, the
proposed paratransit fare per trip is as follows:
• $1.60 per trip on 01/O1/O1
® $1.80 per trip on 0.1/01/02
® $2.00 per trip on 01/01/03
The City policy that gives the visually impaired free fare will be discontinued.
