HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 00-183 N.C.S. 10/02/2000 Resolution No. 2000-183 N.C.S. of the City of Petaluma, California APPOINTING THE ENGINEER OF WORK AND BOND COUNSEL FOR ASSESSMENT DISTRICT 2000-1 (MCDOWELL/E. WASHINGTON) RESOLVED, by the City Council (the "Council") of the City of Petaluma (the "City"), County of Sonoma, California: WHEREAS, the City proposes to consider the undertaking of a project consisting generally of installing street, bicycle, and pedestrian improvements and related traffic improvements to the McDowell Avenue and East Washington Street intersection in the City (the "Project"); WHEREAS, the City intends to consider the use of special assessment proceedings (the "Assessment Proceedings") under the Municipal Improvement Act of 1913, Division 12 of the California Streets and Highways Code (the "Act") and the Improvement Bond Act of 1915, Division 10 of the California Streets and Highways Code (the "Bond Law") to secure financing; WHEREAS, it is in the public interest and for the public benefit that the City declare its official intent to consider the conduct of the Assessment Proceedings and to appoint certain consultants to assist the City in the Assessment Proceedings; NOW, THEREFORE, it is hereby declared as follows: 1. The firms of Harris & Associates, Petahtma, California, and Jones Hall, a Professional Law Corporation, San Francisco, California, are hereby appointed to be Engineer of Work and Bond Counsel, respectively, to the City for the Assessment proceedings. 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to negotiate agreements with the Engineer of Work and Bond Counsel. for their services. Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
