HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 00-187L N.C.S. 10/16/2000 Resolution No. 00-187L N.C.S. of the City of Petaluma, California RESOLUTION AMENDING THE CLASSIFICATION PLAN AND ESTABLISHING THE POSITION CLASSIFICATION PARKS SUPERVISOR DESIGNATED TO UNIT 9 (MID-MANAGEMENT) BE IT RESOLVED that the Classification Plan and Compensation Plan, as originally adopted pursuant to Resolution No. 90-209 N.C.S., and the classification titles and specifications as adopted by Resolution No. 90-147 N.C.S., are hereby amended by establishing the classification of Parks Supervisor (as attached hereto and marked Exhibit "A" and made a part hereof). BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this action is taken pursuant to Personnel Code 2.04.020 and Personnel Rules and Regulations (Rule IV, Section 5) for classifications included in the Competitive Service of the Personnel System, that the notice of this action has been properly posted and that the City Manager recommends this action. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Resolution No. 90-147 N.C.S., as amended, is hereby amended to include the classification of Parks Supervisor and assigning this classification to Unit 9 (Mid-Management), with a salary range of $4,442 - $4,664 - $4,898 - $5,142 - $5,400, effective July 10, 2000. Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City. ESSENTIAL DUTIES .AND RESPONSIBILITIES Participate in budget pieparafion and administration; Assists in the development of plans and design of new parks and. landscape sites and changes to e:cisting sites; Reviews plans, drawings; and cost projections for-public projects anddirects the. implementation of changes, and construction; for new and existinj park„ landscape sites, and facilities; Plan, supervise, and .direct the maintenance of parks, playground areas, park facilities and assigned landscaped medians,. parkways and other miscellaneous landscapes; Inspects damaged~and diseased. trees, shrubs nor turf to determine appropriate corrective action; Respond to emergencies including fallen trees acrd parks maintenance problems; Respond to citizen complaints and inquiries from the public; pevelops' and. maintains cooperative relationships with City staff, outside agencies and the public; incl~uding-the organization and direction of volunteer work programs; Attends meetings, including City Council, various Boards ..and Commissions, and neighborhood meetings; ~ v Supervises the Cty's'IPM program and the application of all pesticides throughout the City;. Ability to interpret;an extensive variety of technical instructions, in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS . Must possess: a valid California Driver's License and have :a satisfactory driving record. Possession of a valid Pest Control- Advisors. license (PCA) issued by the State of California, Department of Pesticide Regulation.
