HomeMy WebLinkAboutPCDC Minutes 06/04/1990MINUTES OF THE PETALUMA COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION MONDAY, TUNE 40 1990 ROLL CALL: 3:00 p.m. PRESENT: Commissioners Tencer, Woolsey, Balshaw, Davis, Vice Chairman Sobel, Chairman Hilligoss ABSENT: Cavanagh MINUTES - The February 12, 1990, minutes were approved as submitted. RESO.90-2 The River Festival Committee has solicited donations equalling $20,000 they wish to contribute toward replacement of the old, wooden docks in the commercial docking area of the Turning Basin. The Council Turning Basin Subcommittee (Balshaw, Davis, Sobel) recommend the City replace the existing docks and replace the foot ramp at Cavanagh Park. Completion of this project will provide continuous pedestrian access from the Keller Street parking garage to Cavanagh Park and would be implementation of the River Walk Master Plan. Costs are estimated to be $29,904 - City dock and ramp replacement; $20,000 - River Festival Dock Donation; $11,489 - Golden Eagle Access Ramp equalling $61,293. The project is scheduled for completion prior to the River Festival. Introduced by Lynn Woolsey, seconded by John Balshaw. AYES: Tencer, Woolsey, Balshaw, Davis, Vice Chairman Sobel, Chairman Hilligoss NOES: None ABSENT: Cavanagh PIGEON CONTROL REPORT FROM DEPUTY DIRECTOR Deputy Director Gene Beatty reported on a meeting he had with the owners of the Masonic Building. They have cleaned the awning over the corner retail establishment and the numbers of pigeons have shown a decrease. Mr. Beatty will talk to the graineries regarding the spillage the pigeons eat and he will continue to work on the pigeon problem. It was noted the merchants have not expressed the concern they did prior to the pigeon population decrease. ADJOURN The meeting was adjourned at 3:10 p.m. / '/ / R M.
