HomeMy WebLinkAboutPCDC Minutes 06/16/1986MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING PETALUMA COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION MONDAY, JUNE 16, 1986 Roll: 3:00 p.m. Present: Sobel, Cavanagh, Davis, Woolsey, Tencer, Vice Chairman Balshaw, Chairman Mattei Absent: None Minutes The minutes of June 2 were amended to revise the line that begins with 'proposal' to read as follows: "proposal; 15% of the offered price was to be deposited at the close of escrow to guarantee renovation in one year after" .and.. the penultimate line of the narrative should read as follows: "deposit would be refunded upon completion of improvements which must have been approved by the City's". OLD CAP'N SIMS BUILDING Executive Director John Scharer said that requests for proposals had been hand -delivered to the three parties who had previously expressed interest in bidding on the property. The only bid that was returned was submitted by Mr. Roth in the amount of $155,000; it was accompanied by a loo deposit. The staff recommendation is to accept the offer and authorize the Executive Director to sign all the necessary documents. Mr. Ken Bradley of Aunt Julie's Toys and Antiques questioned the manner in which the bidders were notified. The Commissioners were assured by Mr. Smith (realtor handling the transaction) that the Roths intend to have a retail business in this location. Commission Attorney Joe Forest suggested that staff work out a written buy -sell agreement. The Commission consensus was to authorize staff to proceed with that document. The meeting was adjourned.
