Introduced by Commissioner Perry, seconded by Vice Chairman Bond. AYES: Perry, Battaglia, Cavanagh, Balshaw, Vice Chairman Bond, Chairman Mattei ABSENT: None (one seat vacant) RU/DAT The Executive Director, John Scharer, recommended the Commission set aside $25,000 for a proposed RU/DAT study as described to the City Council by Leroy Bean at their June 18, 1984, meeting. . The American Institute of Architects has developed a process analysis team project to help American communities by bringing in an interdisciplinary team of the best available professionals drawn from across the nation who would respond to a community's invitation to listen to its citizens perception of their issues and study the local contexts as a 'basis for making recommendations for the future development of the City. The City Council had expressed their interest in pursuing this project at that Council meeting. The Commission concurred with the Director's recommendation. TURNING BASIN BEAUTIFICATION The Commission reviewed a proposal to develop a promenade at the turning basin. There was consensus that this be referred to the RU/DAT (see above minute item) team for study. There was discussion of the need for hydraulic information on water movement both at the Steamer Gold and the Farrell House locations. The Executive Director requested that the Commission appoint three members to work with him and 'with Walter Kieckhefer, owner of the Eagle Shopping Center, regarding the proposal.
