Present - Balshaw, Bond, Chairman Mattei .Absent - Battaglia * Commissioner Harberson Cavanagh,Harberson*, Perry, arrived at 4:10 p.m. Contract Electrical Work McNear Build. Street Lights John Scharer reported on bidding this last phase of the McNear building. He recommended the eobid forbe a 180 ($5A700thas ebeen c� 941 Litchfield Avenue, set aside for this work). m/s Perry -Bond, the contract for street lights for the McNear building be awarded to the low bidder, Ament Electric. Chairman Mattei Ayes: Balshaw, Bond, Cavanagh, Perry, Absent: Battaglia, Harberson Status Golden Eagle bridge City Engineer Hargis noted the placement of a pedestrian bridge, between downtown Petaluma has(west not beenthe det determined.and the Construshoption area east of the river, of a bridge would require a permit from the U. S. Coast Guar which acts as a clearing -house for this type of structure. The Bay Conservation & DevelopmentCommission, BoardsandnCaliforniapStates of ELandsers, Regional Water Quality project. It was estimated people would all have influence on such a permit request to be to take at least three months for such a p processed by the U. S. Coast Guard, and it would be a longer time if an environmental impact report were to be required. *Commissioner Harberson arrived.* Chairman Mattei expressed the feeling the Commission should work on a feasibility study. The Commissioners raised --the following _.po_. - Would the property owners and those benefiting from such a project be willing to participate in the cost? - Would the property owners and those benefiting from such a project support the idea of building a pedestrian bridge? PCDC -2- December 10, 1979 - Would this satisfy the needs for downtown parking? - What would the project cost? - We ought to have a project readied and request Federal funds for its implementation. - Would people use the Golden Eagle shopping center parking lot for shopping at stores on the west side of the river? Chairman Mattei appointed a 3 -member committee to research the points raised and to report back on the matter in a month or so. Chairman - Commissioner Balshaw Members - Commissioner Cavanagh - Commissioner Perry - Staff to be appointed by the Executive Director Mahoney Parking -Lot John Scharer advised the Commission there is nothing definitive to report on the parking lot project.
