HomeMy WebLinkAboutPCDC Minutes 11/13/1979DEC 7 1979 MINUTES PETALUMA COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION Tuesday, November 13, 1979 ROLL CALL - 4:00 p.m. Present - Balshaw, Bond, Cavanagh, Perry, Chairman Mattei Absent - Battaglia, Harberson Pledge of Allegiance - Chairman Mattei led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Minutes - the October PCDC minutes were approved as submitted. TREE PLANTING Project Area Committee Chairman Helen Issel reported that four more property owners have agreed to the tree planting program for seven businesses in the area. It was emphasized that the tree planting program is being offered to those property owners who have done something with their stores, such as painting their exterior. M/s Perry -Bond, the Commission approve that the trees be planted at the locations shown on the PAC report. These locations are: 132,134 Petaluma Blvd. North; 125, 127 Keller Street; 128 Liberty Street; 106 Washington Street. Ayes: Balshaw, Bond, Cavanagh, Perry, Chairman Mattei Absent: Battaglia, Harberson Executive Director Meyer expressed concern about the safety problems that may be caused if a tree were planted on Washington Street. The City Engineer was asked to look at that site. The Commission saw a map being prepared by the PAC Chairman. It indicates sites of parking, meters, trees, signs and other points of interest to the Commission. MAHONEY PARKING LOT Mr. Scharer reported on the Mahoney Parking Lot project - 1. The estimated cost is $35,000. Mr. Mahoney is willing to spend $25,000. The $10,000. difference is due to the requirement of the County to con- struct a drain that would have to go under the railroad tracks. The Commission indicated that they would not commit an additional $10,000. to the project. 2. Discussion regarding the proposed contract was held. The Commissioners wished to have a provision in the agreement whereby they would have a voice in the monthly rate setting process. Mr. Scharer was to continue discussing the project with Mr. Mahoney and to pursue other possible funding sources for the drainage.
