HomeMy WebLinkAboutPCDC Minutes 08/13/1979MINUTES PETALUMA COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION AUGUST 13, 1979 ROLL CALL 4:00 p.m. PRESENT: Commissioners Balshaw, Battaglia, Bond, Cavanagh Perry, Chairman Mattei ABSENT: Commissioner Harberson MINUTES: The minutes for the following meetings were approved as submitted. January, February, March, April, May, June, July of 1979 Letter of resignation from Project Area Committee The Commission accepted the resignation of Robert Mattei from the PAC. Project Area Committee report Helen Issel, interim chairman of the PAC, submitted a report to the Commission. The following questions were asked of the Commission: -Is there any criteria for eligibility for this committee (PAC)? -What is the priority list of projects for this committee? -What is the budgetary range within which the committee should function? -What do you mean by 'marketing strategy'? -Does the PAC have any bargaining power to negotiate owner participation agreements? -Can the PAC go out and sell a package for the Commission's approval? -Can the PAC go out to get funds other than tax increment funds? The Commission discussed the possibility of combining the Parking and Business Improvement Area Committee and the Project Area Committee. Staff asked that the PAC report be submitted to staff for research. ( M/s Bond -Perry, to appoint the persons listed (see Exhibit A) ( to the Project Area Committee. ( Ayes: Balshaw, Battaglia, Bond, Cavanagh, Perry, Chairman Mattei ( Absent: Harberson DIRECTOR'S REPORT There are two projects pending: PCDC Minutes Page -2- August 13, 1979 Mahoney Parking Lot - it has been through site design and has been approved by the Planning Commission. Staff will propose to change the term to ten years and the matter will be returned to the Commission when the agreement is ready.' McNear Building - they are still working on the electrical wiring and the street lights will be tied to the building.' Opera House - that project is completed.
