PETALUMA COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION
September 11, 1978
REGULAR MEETING The Regular Meeting of the Petaluma Community Development
Commission was called to order by Chairman Helen Putnam
at 4:07 p.m.
ROLL CALL Present: Commissioners Bond, Cavanagh, Hilligoss,
Perry and Chairman Putnam
Absent: Commissioner Balshaw and Harberson
RESOLUTION A resolution Appointing Darlene Adiego and Marjorie Irving
APPOINTING as Deputy Recording Secretaries of the Petaluma Community
DEPUTY RECORDING Development Commission.

AYES: 5 ABSENT: BALSHAW/HARBERSON
1978-79 FUNDING John Scharer, Finance Officer, reported on the 1978-79
REPORT PCDC Funding for the Petaluma Community Development Commission.
The balance available is $53,382.00.
PETALUMA OPERA The Petaluma Opera House Project on Kentucky Street
HOUSE - OWNER asked for an Owner Participation Agreement to move ahead
PARTICIPATION with the tree planting, bricking or cobblestoning the
AGREEMENT trees and lighting.

A Resolution approving an Owner Participation Agreement with the Owners of the
Old Petaluma Opera House (145 Kentucky).

DISCUSSION A discussion was held regarding the status of the "A"
METERING "A' ST. Street Parking lot. John Scharer made the recommendation
PARKING LOT that the Commission request the Staff notify the property
owners and merchants in the area, the AB 103 Committee,
Project Area Committee and the "Fred Mattei" Committee that they are looking
into the "A" Street Parking Lot status. The staff should schedule a meeting with
those noted above and have a report ready for the Petaluma Community Develop-
ment Commission Meeting of October 9, 1978.

Chairman Putnam asked Commissioner Bond if he would work
with John Scharer and look into recommendations. Bob Wells, Press Democrat,
mentioned that the service station at Liberty and Washington Street was going
out of business. He suggested contacting Mr. Mahoney to inquire about the
possibility of using the property for parking.
