PETALUMA COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION
Minutes of Meeting
Tuesday, October 12, 1976 - 4:05 p.m.
The regular meeting of the Petaluma Community Develop-
ment Commission was called to order by Chairman Helen
Putnam at 4:05 p.m.
Present: Commissioners Brunner*, Cavanagh, Harberson,
Hilligoss, Mattei, Perry*, and Chairman,Putnam.
Absent: None.
*Commissioner'Brunner arrived at 4:06 p.m., Commissioner
Perry arrived at 4:09 p.m.
The minutes of August 9, 1976, were approved as mailed.
The minutes of September 13, 1976, were approved as
corrected. Commissioner Cavanagh asked to have the
name recorded on the "no" vote on Resolution #19. The
minutes of September 20, 1976, were approved as mailed.
LETTER FROM -SACRAMENTO A letter dated October 1, 1976, to the Petaluma Commu-
HOUSING & REDEVELOP nity Development Commission from the Sacramento Housing
MENT_COMMISSION-' and Redevelopment Commission, Joe Serna, Chairperson,
and Kay Krepprath, Vice -Chairperson, urging the Council
to endorse Proposition 1 on the November 2 Ballot, was
not read by the Recording Secretary, as all members of the Commission had
received copies. There was a brief discussion regarding the letter and Pro-
position 1. The Commissioners felt since they had not had an opportunity to
review the context of Proposition 1, they preferred to delay the matter at this
time. It was felt if they wish to take a stand on the matter they could do so
as members of the City Council at the October 26, 1976 Council meeting. No
action was taken.
STAFF REPORT- Project Manager Janie Warman gave a brief review of the
STATUS OF status of the Commission at the present time, stating
COMMISSION the ordinance approving and adopting the Redevelopment
Plan for the Petaluma Central Business District Rede-
velopment Project had been adopted at the second read-
ing, September 27, 1976, and will become effective on October 27, 1976. At the
present time, the staff is outlining the goals and objectives for the imple-
mentation of the Plan. She advised the Commissioners they would be receiving
some written materials within the next few weeks and suggested a discussion
meeting be held at the next regular meeting. The Redevelopment Plan has been
revised to reflect the changes made in the ordinance. The Plan will include
the ordinance and the rules and regulations for owner/participants.
Ms. Warman stated the Project Area Committee had a meeting on October 7, which
was very well attended. She advised the Project Area Committee is looking to
the Commission for input and.suggestions for the role they should play and the
direction they should take in the implementation of the Plan. She also advised
the Project Area Committee has scheduled their regular meetings for 7:30 a.m.

which indicates a demand for housing in excess.of
available units.
TRANSMITTAL OF The Recording Secretary officially transmitted to the
ORD #1221 NCS Petaluma Community Development Commission Ordinance
ADOPTED BY CITY #1221 N.C.S. approving and adopting the Redevelopment
COUNCIL Plan for the Petaluma Central Business District Rede -
SEPTEMBER 27, 1976 velopment Project, adopted by the Petaluma City Council
on September 27, 1976, which becomes effective October
27, 1976. A copy of the letter from the Recording
Secretary with a certified copy of the ordinance,
submitted and filed.
ADJOURNMENT There being no further business to come before the Com-
mission, the meeting was adjourned -at 4:18 p.m.
