4 Approving 2000 Refuse Collection Rates

8 WHEREAS, the City of Petaluma and Empire Waste Management have entered
9 into a franchise agreement for refuse collection and street sweeping, and
10
11 WHEREAS, the Agreement contains a rate formula allowing for annual
12 adjustments to the rates based on various economic factors, and,
13
14 WHEREAS, based on the components of the Rate Formula, Empire Waste
15 Management is entitled to a rate increase of 6.84% for year 2000,
16
17 BE IT RESOLVED, the City Council of the City of Petaluma authorizes an
18 increase in the collection rates as evidenced in Attachment "A", to be effective January,
19 2000, through April 3, 2000.

Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
