HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 00-084 N.C.S. 05/01/2000 Resoiution No. 00-84 ~T.C;.S. 1 of the City of Petaluma, California 2 3 4 5 APPROVING THE ISSUANCE OF A 6 CERTIFICATE OF PUBLIC CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY FOR 7 A-1 TAXI COMPANY OF PETALUMA, INC., AND ON THE MOVE, INC. 8 9 WHEREAS, Greg McCord of On the move, inc. has requested approval of a Certificate of Public 1o Convenience and Necessity to authorize the operation of a 24-hour, 18 cab taxi service (A-1 Taxi 11 Company of Petaluma, Inc., and On the move, inc. (Yellow Cab, Belaire Cab and Radio Cab)) 12 inside Petaluma city limits; and 13 14 WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on April 11, 2000 before the Planning Commission to 15 consider the operation of the taxicab companies; and 16 17 WHEREAS, the Planning Commission voted to recommend approval of the requested Public 18 Convenience and Necessity for A-1 Taxi Company of Petaluma, Inc:, and On the move, inc. 19 (Yellow Cab, Belaire Cab and Radio Cab); and 20 21 WHEREAS, the request was heard on May 1, 2000 before the City Council at which time 22 information was heard and considered by the Council. 23 24 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that it is ordered and declared pursuant to Petaluma 25 Municipal Code Title 14, that the City has found the taxicab companies, A-1 Taxi Company of 26 Petaluma, Inc., and On the move, inc. (Yellow Cab, Belaire Cab and Radio Cab) to be allowed to 27 operate subject to the following conditions: 2$ Resolution No. 0 O- 8 4 x.c. s. Page 1 o f 2 1 2 1. This Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity is hereby issued to A-1 Taxi 3 Company of Petaluma, Inc., and On the move, inc. (Yellow Cab, Belaire Cab and Radio 4 Cab), authorizing the operation of eighteen (18) taxicabs inside City of Petaluma city 5 limits. 6 7 2. The fare rates as proposed by the applicant are hereby fixed, and may only be changed by . 8 City Council action. They are: $2.00 at the flag drop, $2.20 per mile thereafter. Senior 9 discount shall be 10% for customers over 65 years of age. Wait time shall be at the rate to of $22.00/hour. 11 12 3. The eight (8) vehicles owned and operated by On the move, inc. (Yellow Cab, Belaire 13 Cab and Radio Cab) .shall be subject to an inspection by the Police Department prior to 14 operation inside City limits. Any defects uncovered during the inspection shall be 15 corrected and the vehicle re-inspected by the Police Department. The ten (10) taxis 16 owned and operated by A-1 Taxi shall be subject to their annual inspection June 30, 1 ~ 2000. is 19 4. Any proposal for increase in the number of taxicabs shall be reviewed and approved by 20 the City Council before expansion of service is made. Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
