Summary Statement
Bids were opened on.May 12, 1998. The low bid was $228,725.00. The 'project involves
installing a storm drain pipe.system in Stuart'Drive between McGregor Avenue and McKenzie
Avenue, andin"G" Street near Eighth!Street to alleviate localiflooding: The project also involves
extending existing sewer mains from the backyards•into McNeil Avenue between McDowell
Boulevard South„find Coronado Drive to provide accesses for maintenance crew to service the
mains. Construction'is scheduled for mid-July and is expected to be completed by September
1998. This project will be funded:by a combination of Storm Drain Mitigation Fees and Sewer
Funds.

17 Adopt resolution approving plans; and specifications prepared by the Engineering Department,
18 awarding the construction contract to the low bidder, Nelson Construction, 2400 Petaluma
19 Boulevard North, Petaluma, CA 94952, in the amount;of$228;725400; and approving the project
20 budget in the amount of $306,725.00, which includes design, "planning, administration,
21 construction, inspection and project contingency, for the 1998 Storm Drain Improvements in
22 Stuart Drive between McGregor,Avenue;and McKenzie Avenue; in"G" Street near Eighth Street;
23 and the Sewer Main Installation in M cNeil Avenue between McDowell Boulevard •South and
24 Coronado Drive.

• 32 Bids were opened on May 12, 1998 for the 1998 Storm Drain.Improvement and Sewer Main
33 Installation Project (Project Nos. 9746 and 9799). The project involves installing a storm drain
34 pipe system in Stuart Drive between McKenzie,Avenue and McGregor Avenue; and in"G" Street
35 near Eight Street to alleviate local flooding This project also involves extending existing sewer
36 mains from the backyards into McNeil Avenue between McDowell Boulevard South and
37 Coronado,Drivepto provide accesses for maintenance crew to service'the mains: The storm drain
38 and sewer projects are combined into one project because they.are located in the same vicinity.
