1 DIRECTING STAFF TO GO FORWARD WITH PHASE ONE
2 OF PETALUMA TRANSIT MALL

6 WHEREAS, the present transit transfer facility is too small for current activity
7 levels; and
8 WHEREAS, the City of Petaluma General Plan has identified the need for a new
9 transit transfer facility; and
10 WHEREAS, on December 4, 1989, the City Council accepted the Transit
11 Transfer Station Study that recommended the Depot site for that facility; and
12 WHEREAS, Copeland Street is the western boundary of that lot; and
13 WHEREAS, the City of Petaluma has procured funding for this project, and the
1.4 funding cycle is fast approaching .its expiration dates; ,and
15 WHEREAS, this project could be co~ripleted in two phases, a Copeland Street
16 phase, and a depot site phase.
17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council direct staff to
18 go forward with phase one of the Petaluma Transit Mall.
