HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 00-109 N.C.S. 06/26/2000 Resolution 00-109 N.C.S. of the City of Petaluma, California CALLING AND GIVING NOTICE OF A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 7, 2000, FOR THE ELECTION OF THREE COUNCIL MEMBERS AND TWO TRUSTEES FOR THE PETALUMA JOINT UNION HIGH SCHOOL BOARD. WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of the Charter of the City of Petaluma and the laws of the State of California, a General Municipal Election shall be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2000; and WHEREAS, there shall be placed on the November 2000 ballot the election of three Council Members to four year terms on the Petaluma City Council, and two trustees to four year terms on the Petaluma Joint Union High School Board; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PETALUMA, CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER A5 FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That pursuant to the requirements of the Elections Code of the State of California and the Charter of the City of Petaluma, there is called and ordered a regular General Municipal Election to be held in the City of Petaluma, California on Tuesday, November 7, 2000, for the purpose of electing three Council Members for four year terms and two Trustees to the Petaluma Joint Union High School Board for four year terms; SECTI®N 2. That the ballots to be used at the election shall be in the form and contents as .require by law; and SECTION 3. That the City Clerk is authorized, instructed, and directed to procure and furnish .and all official ballots, notices, printed matter and all supplies, equipment and paraphernalia that may be necessary in order to properly and lawfully conduct the election; and SECTION 4. That the polls for the election shall be open at seven o'clock a.m. on the day of the election and shall remain open continuously from that time until eight o'clock p.m. on the same day when said polls shall be closed, except as provided in Section 14401of the Elections Code of the State of California; and SEC'TI®lv 5. That in all particulars not recited in this resolution, the election shall be held and conducted as provided by law for holding municipal elections; and SECTION 6. That the notice of the time and place of holding the election is given and the City Clerk is authorized, instructed and directed to give further or additional notice of the election, in time, form, and manner as required by law. Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
