of the City of Petaluma, California
RESOLUTION AMENDING THE PAY RATES FOR PART -TIME
RECREATION POSITIONS AND ESTABLISHING THE TITLES
AND SALARY FOR OTHER PART -TIME POSITIONS
WHEREAS, the December -to- December Consumer Price Index for San Francisco-
Oakland -San Jose (CPI -U) indicates an overall increase of 3.2% in Bay Area consumer prices
from December 2014 to December 2015; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Petaluma, pursuant to Petaluma Municipal
Code Section 8.36.060.D, adopted a 3.2% cost of living adjustment to the Living Wage effective
July 1, 2016 based upon the most recent December 2014 to December 2015 Consumer Price
Index for San Francisco - Oakland -San Jose (CPI -U); and,
WHEREAS, the City of Petaluma's part-time positions of Building Attendant, Marina
Attendant, Ramp Attendant, and Tiny Tots Teacher I are subject to the Living Wage and will
receive an increase of 3.2% effective July 1, 2016; and,
WHEREAS, the City wishes to maintain pay rate consistency within certain part-time
positions which are related, and/or similar to the City's Living Wage positions, but are not
subject to the Living Wage ordinance; and,
WHEREAS, the City last adjusted the pay rates for certain part -time positions effective
July 1, 2015 by 2.7 %; and
WHEREAS, the schedule of pay rates for the part-time positions recommended for the
pay rate adjustment of 3.2% are amended and listed (as attached hereto and marked Exhibit A);
and
WHEREAS, the City Manager may, for the efficient operations of the City, from time to
time establish other extra help or temporary positions not in the competitive service.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council does hereby approve a
3.2% pay rate adjustment for the part -time positions and establish the titles and salary for the
Other Positions Not in the Competitive Service listed in Exhibit A; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the 3.2% pay rate adjustment shall be effective
July 1, 2016.
Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
