Resolution loo. 99-65 ~.c;.,S, 1 of the City of Petaluma, California 3 4 s AUTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT TO THE GENERAL PLAN LAND USE MAP 6 FOR BANTAM TERRACE SUBDIVISION (2.7 ACRES) 7 FROM "SCHOOL" TO URBAN STANDARD" 8 AT 700 BANTAM WAY, portion of APN 006-441-022 9 to 11 WHEREAS, the Planning Commission held a public hearing on the proposed General Plan 12 Amendment and Tentative Subdivision Map on October 27, 1998, after giving notice of said 13 hearing, in the manner, for the period, and in the form required by Ordinance No. 1072 N.C.S., 1 ~ as amended; and is 6 WHEREAS, at the end of the public hearing the Planning Commission voted 5-0 to 17 recommend that the City Council adopt a Negative Declaration and approve the project; and 18 19 WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing on the proposed project on February 1, 20 1999, after giving notice of said hearing, in the manner, for the period, and in the form required 21 by Ordinance No. 1072 N.C.S., as amended; and 22 23 WHEREAS, the City Council reviewed the requested General Plan Amendment in accordance 24 with the General Plan Amendment and finds that 2~ 26 Findings for General Plan Amendment: 27 28 1. The proposed amendment is in conformance with the Petaluma General Plan and will 29 help to implement goals, objectives and programs of the General Plan relating to the 3o development of underutilized properties with residential uses and encouraging 3 ~ development within the Urban Limit Line. The proposed amendment will not hinder or 32 preclude orderly or appropriate expansion of the existing junior high school. 33 Resolutionxo. 99-65 x.c.s. Page 1 of 2 Page 1 ~ 2. The proposed amendment is deemed to be in the public interest to provide for orderly 2 development of appropriate residential uses. 3 4 3. The potential impacts of the proposed amendment have been assessed and have been 5 determined not to be detrimental to the public health, safety or welfare. 6 7 4. The proposed amendment has been processed in accordance with the applicable 8 provisions of the California Government Code and the California Environmental 9 Quality Act (CEQA). ~o l l NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Petaluma does 12 hereby authorize a General Plan Amendment fora 1.5 acre portion of the Bantam Terrace 13 Subdivision, 700 Bantam Way APN 006-441-022, from "School" to "Urban Standard" 14 15 S:\cc\resos\bantamres 16 Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
