HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 99-092 N.C.S.04/19/1999 n ~e$®1Ut1O1't N~. 99-92 N.C.S. of the City of Petaluma, California APPROVING THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS, AWARDING THE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT, AND APPROVING THE PROJECT BUDGET FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE. POND INFLUENT PUMP STATION UPGRADE PROJECT (Project No. 9945) WHEREAS, the Pond Influent Pump Station (PIPS) is a critical link in the City's wastewater treatment and collection system; WHEREAS, the Pond Influent Pump Station Evaluation Report (G.S. Dodson & Associates, January 1998) confirmed that the capacity deficiency of the PIPS is a source of current UI problems and identified a range of other deficiencies associated with the PIPS; WHEREAS, the Pond Influent Pump Station Evaluation Report determined that the most cost effective alternative for achieving, current and future peak wet weather wastewater collection system flows is to upgrade the PIPS; WHEREAS, design of the PIPS Upgrade'Projectwas initiated in accordance with Petaluma City Council Resolution No. 98-32; WHEREAS, the Engineering Department advertised for construction bids in accordance with Petaluma City Council Resolution No. 99-25; WHEREAS, the City received seven construction bids on March 12, 1999; WHEREAS, upgrade of the PIPS is programmed in the 5-Year Sewer CIP (Project 9945); NOW, THEREFORE IT BE RESOLVED by the Petaluma City Council that: 1. The plans and specifications for the Pond Influent Pump Station Upgrade Project are approved; 2. The lowest responsible bid is accepted; 3. The construction contract is hereby awarded to Pacific Mechanical Corporation, 250 Annalisa Drive, Concord, CA 94520, the lowest responsible bidder, in the amount of $4,370,000; and 4. The project budget of $5,567,800 is hereby approved for construction, construction management, engineering services during construction, administration and project contingency.
