of the City of Petaluma, California
APPROVING APPLICATION TO THE FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION
(FAA) FOR THE AIRPORT IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (AIP) 22 FY 11/12 GRANT
FUNDING, AND TO THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
(CALTRANS) DIVISION OF AERONAUTICS FOR A 2.5% GRANT MATCH, AND
AUTHORIZING CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT GRANT FUNDING FROM BOTH
AGENCIES AND EXECUTE ALL GRANT - RELATED DOCUMENTS
WHEREAS, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) makes available to general
aviation airports, matching entitlement grant funding as part of their Airport Improvement
Program (AIP); and,
WHEREAS, the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) Division of
Aeronautics offers a 2.5% match to the FAA - approved AIP grant, pursuant to Public Utilities
Code Section 21683.1; and,
WHEREAS, at its January 6, 2011 meeting, the Petaluma Airport Commission
recommended using this year's AIP 22 grant funding for the Aircraft Parking Apron Phase -1
Rehabilitation and the Southwest Taxiway Pavement Rehabilitation Design Project; and,
WHEREAS, the projected cost of the above project is $125,000, of which the FAA grant
portion (95 %) is $118,750, and the Caltrans match is $3,125 (2.5 %); and,
WHEREAS, the remaining local match of $3,125 will be identified in the Airport's
Capital Projects Budget FY 11/12; and,
WHEREAS, Caltrans requires the'Petaluma City Council to adopt a resolution
authorizing submission of an application for the State match to the AIP 22 grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Petaluma:
Approves application to the FAA for AIP 22 FY 11/12 entitlement grant funding.
Approves application to Caltrans Division of Aeronautics for a 2.5% grant match.

Authorizes City Manager to accept grant funding from both agencies.
4. Authorizes City Manager to execute all grant- related documents.
Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City.
