S. 1 of the City of Petaluma, California 2 RESOLUTION AMENDING THE CLASSIFICATION PLAN 3 TO ESTABLISH THE POSITION CLASSIFICATION 4 SHELTER ASSISTANT 5 DESIGNATED TO UNIT 11, (ANIMAL CONTROL SERVICES) 6 7 s BE IT RESOLVED that the Classification Plan and Compensation Plan, as y originally adopted pursuant to Resolution No. 90-209 N.C.S., and the classification titles and to specifications as adopted by Resolution No. 90-147 N.C.S., are hereby amended by 11 establishing the classification of Shelter Assistant, (as attached hereto and marked Exhibit "A" 12 and made a part hereof). 13 14 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this action is taken pursuant to Personnel is Code 2,04.020 and Personnel Rules and Regulations (Rule IV, Section 5) for classifications 16 included in the Competitive Service of the Personnel System, that the notice of this action has 1~ been properly posted and that the Ciry Manager recommends this action. is lv NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the. Resolution No. 90-147 20 N.C.S., as amended, is hereby amended to include establishment of the classification of 21 Shelter Assistant and assigning this classification to Unit 11 (Animal. Control Services), 22 effective May 17, 1999 with a salary range of $8.99 to $10.93 per hour. 23 Under the power and authority conferred upon this Council by the Charter of said City. CI'I'~ ®F PE'TAI,UlVIA SI~EI,TEl~ ASSIS'TAN'T Department: Animal: Services Reports to: Animal Shelter Supervisor FIJSA Status: Non-exempt DEFINI'T'ION Under general ,supervision, performs field and office work to administer the City's animal licensing program, including ..issuing licenses and collecting anti accounting for fees. Responsible for the front office and .performs related work as required. ESSENTIAL:.. DhTTIES' AND: RESPONSIBILITIES Responsibilities include maintaining front office while assisting. the public with animal intakes, redemptions, and adoptions. Collection of fees and issue licenses to animal owners either at their residence or at the Animal Shelter. Balance and prepare deposits for revenue collected in the field and in the off ce and maintain related records. Remain. current on the rules and regulations governing the licensing process. Communicate with other agencies to provide or obtain current • animal licensing information. Answer incoming calls and return calls off answering machine SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES ~ , None ~ EDUCA'T'ION and/or EXPERIENCE High. school diploma or equivalent. One year of general clerical experience including public contact experience that involved the interpretation and application of rules and regulations. CERTIFICATES/LICENSES Possession of a valid California Class C Driver's License.
