HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 99-113F N.C.S. 05/17/1999 1 Resolution No. 99-113-F s, of the City of Petaluma, California 2 .RESOLUTION AMENDING THE CLASSIFICATION PLAN 3 TO ESTABLISH THE POSITION CLASSIFICATION 4 KENNEL ATTENDANT s DESIGNATED TO UNIT 11, (ANIMAL CONTROL SERVICES) 6 7 s BE IT RESOLVED that the Classification Plan and Compensation Plan, as 9 originally adopted pursuant to Resolution No. 90-209 N.C.S., and the classification titles and to specifications as adopted by Resolution No. 90-147 N.C.S., are hereby amended by 11 establishing the classification of Kennel Attendant, (as attached hereto and marked Exhibit "A" 12 and made a part .hereof). 13 14 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this action is taken pursuant to Personnel is Code 2.04.020 and Personnel Rules and Regulations (Rule IV, Section 5) for classifications 16 included in the Competitive Service of the Personnel System, that the notice of this action has 17 been properly posted and that the City Manager recommends this action. is 19 NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Resolution No. 90-147 2v N.C.S., as amended, is hereby amended to include establishment of the classification of 21 Kennel Attendant and assigning this classification to Unit 11 (Animal Control Services), 22 effective May 17, .1999 with a salary range of $7.48 - $9.09 per hour. 23 Under the power and authority conferred upon tlvs Council by the Charter of said City. N~~..9:9.-11.3.-F...., N.cs. ~.~T~ ~ETAL~~A KENNEL ATTENDANT Department: Animal Services Reports to: Animal Shelter Supervisor FLSA Status: Non-exempt DEFINITI®N Under general supervision, performs shelter-cleaning duties, animal feeding and other duties related to the maintenance of the Animal Shelter and the animals being held at the shelter. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESP®NSIBILITIES Daily disinfecting of animal: cages using disinfectants and chemicals to prevent the spread of infectious diseases. Care ,of all shelter animals, including cats, dogs, and other small animals. Look for and 'identify signs of illness' or distress in animals,. notify supervisor and follow medical protocol. Report to supervisor daily on changesfin health and behavior of shelter animals. .Responsible for the set-up of new animals. Participate in euthanasia of shelter animals when needed. Provide assistance for•shelter staff liy completing animal receipts, forms or reports. SUPERVIS®RY RESPONSIBILI`T'IES None ~ ~ r EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE At least 18 years of age. Willing to.work weekends and holidays. Verification of legal right to work in the United .States is required. CERTIFICATES/L.ICENSES Possession of a valid California Class C Driver's License. Ability to obtain Euthanasia Certificate within twelve months: PIIYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee fo successfully perform the°essential functions of this job.
